Here is everything you need to know about the fastest way to move funds on Coinmetro.

Internal Transfers happen entirely within the Coinmetro ecosystem. Because these transactions don't need to be broadcast to the public blockchain, we have eliminated the friction points you are used to.

• ⚡ Absolutely Instant: Forget waiting for 6 block confirmations. Internal transfers settle in seconds among Coinmetro users. The moment you tap confirm, the funds arrive in the recipient's wallet.
• 💸 100% Fee-Free: We mean it. No network fees, no gas fees, and no Coinmetro service fees. If you send 50 XCM, your recipient gets exactly 50 XCM.
• 🌍 Totally Borderless: Your friends are global, and so is your funds. Send funds to someone in the same room or on another continent with the exact same speed and zero cost.

⚠️ Important Availability & Asset Limitations

• 🇬🇧 UK Availability: Please be aware that Internal Transfers are currently not available to customers in the United Kingdom. We are working closely with the regulator and will enable this feature for our UK community immediately upon receiving approval.
• Supported Assets: Currently, Internal Transfers are exclusively available for cryptocurrencies (like BTC, ETH, XCM, KDA, etc.). Please note that Fiat currencies (EUR, USD, GBP) and Stablecoins (such as USDT, USDC) are not supported at this moment. We are working on expanding this list!

1. Introducing @MetroTags

Think of your @MetroTag as your unique username within the Coinmetro universe. It’s short, memorable, and fully customizable. You aren't stuck with a random ID - you can change your tag to match your nickname, your brand, or your vibe.

💡 Pro Tip: Make Sure You Are Visible! By default, your profile might be private. To ensure your friends can search for you by your Tag, head to your Settings and switch your MetroTag privacy to "Public". If you keep it private, people won't be able to find you!

2. Send Via Phone Number

Don't know their tag? No problem. You can send funds directly to anyone using just their mobile phone number.

IMPORTANT TIP: When sending via phone, always remember to include the correct country prefix (e.g., +372 for the EE, +1 for the USA) to ensure it reaches the right person!

3. Recognizing Faces with Avatars

Sometimes it’s just easier to tap on a familiar face. We’ve added the ability to set custom Avatars for your account. When you type in a friend's @MetroTag or number, you’ll see their Avatar pop up—giving you that extra confidence that you are sending to the right person.

We’ve designed the process to be seamless, regardless of whether the lucky recipient is already a Coinmetroid or completely new to the platform.

Here are the two scenarios:

Scenario A: Sending to an existing Coinmetro user

If your friend already has a verified Coinmetro account, the process is lightning fast.

1. You enter their @MetroTag or phone number.
2. You select the crypto asset and amount, and hit send.
3. The funds appear instantly in their Coinmetro balance. They get a notification, and the crypto is ready to be traded or staked immediately.

Scenario B: Sending to someone NOT yet on Coinmetro

Want to send your cousin their first crypto, but they don't have an account? This is the easiest way to onboard them.

1. You send funds to their mobile phone number (remember the country prefix!).
2. The funds leave your account and are held securely in pending status.
3. They receive an SMS or WhatsApp message stating that you have sent them funds.

🇺🇸 / 🇨🇦 US & Canada: Please note that for recipients in the USA and Canada, invites are sent exclusively via WhatsApp. Please ensure your friend has WhatsApp installed to receive the message!

1. They create their Coinmetro account using their phone number, and complete the standard Identity Verification (KYC).
2. As soon as their account is verified, the funds automatically land in their wallet.

What if they don't claim it? Don't worry, your funds are safe. If the recipient doesn’t create an account and claim the transfer within 7 days, the transaction is automatically cancelled, and the funds are returned fully to your balance.
