Darksend

Darksend relates to Darkcoin and allows users to make anonymous transactions.
Darksend - so, this is my take on the word, I could be wrong, but Darksend was actually coined I think by Dash initially, and basically it was an automatic or autonomous decentralized mixing-"button" that allowed you to send coins anonymously.

I think they changed the name from Darksend to something like PrivateSend. Maybe Darksend is now more widely used than just Dash, but essentially what it means you're sending something on a blockchain, some type of asset, and you are doing it anonymously, whether you're doing that through some type of mixing, now when you use a mixer, you are using a centralized mixer - so that data is somewhat centralized - so there's a risk, that the mixer doesn't protect the data, and some authority is going to come in and either shut down that mixer, or find your data, or whatever, and trace it back to you.

The Dash idea was a decentralized mixer, meaning it actually get mixed in a decentralized manner, and this way, there's less risk that it gets, lets say, found out, and at the same time you're able to send money anonymously. Now I have my own personal idea on whether this actually makes sense, I think from a privacy standpoint, again if I put on a "I'm a public citizen hat, who cares about regulation" - it's great to be able to send money privately.

I don't necessarily want everybody to know where I spend my money, and nobody wants anybody to know that. But, the world we live in, doesn't necessarily allow those things to happen, unless you're carrying cash, which is one reason why there will be a crypto Euro and a crypto USD, because people will spend it like it's cash, but they can trace it like it's credit. And that's awesome to governments, regulators, law enforcement etcetera.
